Preschool and Childcare (Ages 2 ½ to 5, potty trained)
Our preschool offers children the opportunity to explore their environment through hands-on activities and themes based on their interests and abilities, and are age appropriate in accordance to guidelines set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and state licensing. To enhance your child’s educational experience we offer weekly swim lessons at the YMCA (at no additional cost), weekly visits to the Comstock Library for story time and project, music and movement class with a retired teacher, as well as other field trips during the year. Our location within the Comstock Community Center offers additional benefits of an intergenerational environment, nature trails and a private fenced in playground. We offer full or half day schedules and 3 or 5 day a week care. Wrap-around care is available for children who attend CHIRPENS and Head Start.
Kindergarten Wrap-Around
This half day program, located at North Elementary, is offered to Kindergarteners attending Comstock Public Schools. We work with the school and teachers to expand on their classroom curriculum, as well as include our own hands-on activities to enhance the educational experiences and needs of each individual child. We also offer care on no school, half days, and snow days. Snow day insurance must be purchased ($30) to ensure you have care on those days and covers all snow days for the school year. Transportation to and from Green Meadow is provided by Comstock school buses.
Before and After school care
Kids Korner’s before and after school program is available for first through fifth graders at all three Comstock public Elementary schools. We are located at North Elementary and transportation to and from school is provided by Comstock school buses. Activities include quiet games, crafts, reading, puzzles, large and small group games and activities, special events, indoor and outdoor play, drama, homework help, and computer games. An after school snack is provided. Most importantly your child will be given the opportunity to meet children from other elementary school and form friendships long before they enter middle school. We also offer care on no school, half days, and snow days. Snow day insurance must be purchased ($30) to ensure you have care on those days and covers all snow days for the school year.
Kids Korner Summer Camp (Ages 2 ½ to 5)
Kids Korner also offers a summer camp for preschool age children. All the same activities carry over from the school year, however we go on a field trip once a week to many fun locations like Binder Park Zoo, the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, Kalamazoo Valley Museum, the Air Zoo, local parks, and our end of the summer trip to South Haven to play at Kids Corner park. It’s a lot of fun so don’t forget to bring an extra swimming suit and towel for some sprinkler fun!For more information and the necessary forms for sign up please check information here. .
